A classic Shaker kitchen with a Scandinavian touch. The space was built for a Danish-Swedish couple who, after several years in London, longed for home in Scandinavia. They bought an apartment in Copenhagen and made everything truly their own. The custom-designed kitchen features a large bespoke island painted in light gray tones; the style was carefully chosen to match with the historical design of the rest of the house.
The kitchen has been painted in a warm light gray hue that matches the Emperador Gray marble. The set is paired with myriad details in stainless steel and the warm-stained wooden floor. The oak furniture and oak-clad interiors of the cabinets and drawers also serve as an elegant flourish.

All the necessary kitchen functions can be taken care of along the wall but a practical kitchen island lets groups cook together. That way you can knead, cut and chop all together without getting in the way — perfect when your kitchen is the social core of the home.
The Shaker movement used materials in their immediate vicinity when building their homes and as such oak wood has become a signature of the style. The interior of the cabinets and drawers are clad in white-pigmented oak to create a modern take on the classic Shaker kitchen.
The warm pigmentation of the floor softens the space to create a nice contrast with the modern handles.
It is typical in Shaker kitchens to leave some elements of the wall uncovered to sculpt a trim and minimalist style. The couple chose to move the kitchen into a larger room to make the space feel airy and light.
