Our vision of sustainability
Our environmental work and vision since the start in 2017 is to constantly improve and digitize the way we buy kitchens, to meet our digital customer, but also to save resources. We believe that no one can do everything, but that everyone can do something. That is why we work daily to improve and develop our processes to minimize our environmental impact.
Below you can read about the first steps on our way to our goal, to become the most resource-saving kitchen company.
We produce locally
All our kitchens are built completely from scratch, locally in our carpentry in Alingsås a bit outside of Gothenburg. Here we control the entire process carefully, from production to delivery of your kitchens, a way for us to ensure high quality.
We deliver our kitchens together as much as possible to reduce the environmental impact and at the same time keep down the shipping cost for you as a customer.
We work with carefully selected carpenters experienced of working with us, which ensures a safe installation, which will make the kitchen last a long time.
We are digital and save on resources
We are a digital kitchen company that offers everything from inspiration to the buying process, completely digital. That is why we have banned printed catalogs. We do not have to waste the environment to show how good quality we offer or what colors it is possible to get our kitchens in. All inspiration, optional lists and order documents are simply managed digitally in our channels. Both more time-saving and better for the environment.
A step towards a more sustainable business is that we do not make home visits, which saves a large number of trips per year. Instead, you as a customer measuring your kitchen yourself via our simple measurement template.
All communication takes place with digital meetings, which saves resources, while saving time.
We favor the small scale business
We work with several local suppliers to benefit the small-scale craft. With us, you will find, for example, worktops from small family-owned stone cutters.
Our timeless design
All our kitchens are built with the vision that they will last for many years to come, both in terms of quality but also in style. At Nordiska Kök, we are not fond of short-lived trends.
Our production and quality
We use the latest technology to minimize waste in our production, together with solid craftsmanship, we control your order all the way from production to delivery. Our main raw material, wood, comes from environmentally friendly, certified forestry.
We completely avoid exotic woods and instead create the same expression with oak treated in different stains to avoid using these sensitive trees.
Our kitchen factory is heated with briquettes produced from waste materials in production.
We pack our kitchens and doors in cardboard, a better choice for the environment. All cardboard is environmentally certified.
The biggest impact we can do for nature is to invest in quality, carefully controlled, with the least possible environmental impact.
